New Nuclear Weapon Defeated!
For the second year in a row, Congress has refused to fund the administration's request for a new nuclear weapon.
On July 10, the Senate administered the last rites for the Reliable Replacement Warhead (RRW). The Senate Appropriations Committee passed a spending bill rejecting all funding for the new weapon. See a timeline of RRW's defeat.

Take Another Step to Oppose More Nukes
The administration also wants money to build new bomb facilities. These storage facilities would free up other bomb plants to build new nuclear weapons. Public response to this plan has been overwhelming: the Department of Energy had to extend the comment period due to high response.
